Movers and Shakers

Not too much going on here. Melanie left me out, free to roam the apartment twice this week and I was an EXCELLENT boy. I didn't make any messes and spent the whole time napping on the couch or playing with my toys. As a reward, we went to the park three times this week including today's visit! It is starting to get warm down here in Texas thus I can't play as hard as usual without getting really tired. I know I shouldn't complain though cause this summer will be a million times worse! On another note, when people move they are really loud. The past few days our neighbors (the ones we don't really like anyway) were making a lot of noise until really late at night as they moved out of their place. I can't say I am sorry to see them go (they were cat people!) but I am worried that even worse people will move in! Guess only time will tell.

Mom....where are you?

Bluebonnets are VERY tasty. They are like a mixture of grass and honey, only more delicious. Melanie tried to get a picture of me and her in the bluebonnets, but I refused to cooperate. So of the dozen shots, half are such that she is in the process of trying to get me to look at the camera by waving her arm. In the other half I am not looking anywhere near the camera or am actively trying to escape her lap. So we settled for this shot of me in the bluebonnets. Don't I look cute!

Ahhhhhhh........

Contrary to popular belief....I am NOT spoiled rotten. I just know what I like and demand what I need. In this case, a pillow is comfortable and makes me happy. Thus I take the opportunity to use one if at all possible, even if it means Melanie doesn't get to use one!

Popcorn

I love popcorn....now ordinarily Melanie doesn't share this wonderful stuff with me. She is kind of strict about giving me "people food". But sometimes she throws a training session in and then I get to try a little. And even if she doesn't make me practice my tricks, she is ALWAYS messy when eating this great food. I don't know if it is greasiness that makes them slippery or if it's the shape, but she is always dropping pieces on the ground! So I wait underneath the futon, ready to pounce when one of these buttery golden delicious morsels falls.

Melanie and I have been hitting up the dog park a couple times a week. I like to keep up the face time with my posse. In turn they like to share secrets with me.

And they insist on showing me all their new toys...I in turn tell Melanie to get me new ones....got to keep up with the Jones's after all!

Easter Weekend

Melanie and I weren't able to go back to Amarillo for Easter weekend. She is just too busy and time is too limited to make the long drive. However, we were able to make the short overnight trip to San Antonio to visit her aunt and cousins. To my great surprise there was even a special guest there for me to visit with...Riley the puppy dog! Although he will eventually be much bigger than me right now he is just a tiny bit bigger than me so we had a great time rough housing and playing chase all over the yard. His human got him a couple of filled bones...my favorite kind too! Although they gave us each one to chew on, we insisted on wanting each others and really only chewing on one at a time. Consequently, much of the weekend was spent like this with one of us staring in jealousy at the other. I'd like to think that I had the upper hand and kept the bone more but Melanie says I should be that way so I don't want to brag too much.

Betrayed

I have suffered a great injustice. Melanie had a secret rendezvous with another dog! This morning we woke up early and everything seemed normal. I had breakfast and petting session. Then she left, for work I thought. Later, much much later, when I was really needing to go outside, I heard a key in the door lock. Then much to my surprise my friend Erin came in. She freed me from my crate and gave me some loving. Then we went to Research Park for a doggie playdate! It was great to run and romp with all the dogs, enjoying a beautiful day outside. Later we came back home for dinner and some more petting. Then she had to go study so I went back in my crate to await Melanie. Luckily, before long she showed up....smelling like ANOTHER DOG! Can you believe that! I sniffed her shoes which smelled like a combination of junk food, grass, mud, sweat and dog! She tried to tell me that she still loved me and it was an accident.....like I'm going to believe that!

SUPRISE!

Guess who came to visit me this weekend! It was quite unexpected! We had a great time snuggling and he even brought me part of his roast beef sandwich! It was awesome tasting! On Sunday, we went on a small road trip to shop at antique shows. I wasn't really into the heat thing, but after a few stops here and there we ended up my friend Marley's human's show. We had a great time catching up on each other's lives. Did you know that he gets to got to work with his mom everyday? He never gets left at home. It must be awesome, but he does have to stay outside a lot and in the summer I don't envy him!
