A Bug

Melanie has had a cold for the past few days so she has been spending loads of time at home with me. Sadly most of the time we are sleeping instead of playing, but who couldn't use a good daily nap. I am hoping she is better soon so we can go to the park again.

A Sickness

Melanie is kind of distracted lately....it's her yearly fall illness....college football. She tends to watch endless football on tv all weekend and some Saturdays she hangs out with these people. They share her obsession...I mean passion for this strange sport.

A Mis-adventure

Today Melanie planned for me to get a bath at Petsmart. Now when we arrived I was VERY excited, but I soon learned that it wasn't treats that we were shopping for. As soon as we entered the grooming department, I tried to hide behind Melanie. When that didn't work I tried to sit by the escape hatch (aka the door) and use my telepathic skills to will one of the passerby's to open it for me. That didn't work either and then the people there lured me to the back with a handful of treats. An hour later, I called Melanie to tell her that I was refusing a bath and that she needed to come get me. If you don't want a bath, you can growl a little and refuse to leave your containment area. The groomer concurred with my attitude problem and Melanie had to come get me, dirty as I was when I came in. Unfortunately, my plan backfired somewhat as Melanie held me while the lady groomer (the guy is scary) trimmed my nails. Then we went home and I had to get bathed in the tub. Not FAIR! Plus then Melanie went back to work leaving me all alone for the afternoon. I guess I should have been nicer at the groomer cause then I could have hung out with all my doggie friends instead of sitting here in boredom!

Two years in the Making

This weekend Melanie and I took another road trip to a lake house...a different lake though! And guess who was there.....BOSLEY!!!! We've been pen-pugs for a while now but have never met cause he lives on the East Coast. Unfortunately he was kind of tired after playing hard with his humans the day before, but we did have some fun swimming and running around. Turns out we have loads in common including a love of cheese, a softness hierarchy preference and a tendency to show our teeth when we smile.

Elvis x2 in the House

We only got to hang out for a few hours before he had to go, but he promised to beg his humans to bring him to Texas more often. For my part, I am trying to convince Melanie to take me to our nation's capital to visit him. After all, I need to learn more about our government to complete my college education. I also heard there's this humongous grassy area called the Mall that sounds like heaven.

Give me a P....

Give me a A...
Give me a R...
Give me a K...

What's that spell????? PARK!!!!!!

Yep, I finally convinced Melanie that I wouldn't get muddy if she took me to the park. You see it's been raining for days and days and she has thus far refused to take me. of course upon arrival I immediately went back on my promise and rolled in the mud....I can't help it, it's so cool and squishy! I then proceeded to reexert my dominance as referee of all dog park playing. I don't know what these other dogs would do if I didn't help them out to play fair!

Lake House Fun

So today I loaded the family up to go over to Austin and visit my friend Marley at the lake house. We had a grand time taking swimming lessons and generally hanging out with the humans.

Here is Melanie and I enjoying a ride around the cove. I had the prime seat as you can tell. Plus she did all the work paddling!!!
Passenger

This is how Marley preferred to sit on his kayak. He is bigger than me but I see no reason to teeter over the edge like that!
First Class Seat

This is Melanie giving me a swimming lesson. I was not too happy about this particular event since she basically threw me off the kayak. Luckily she followed me in and then proceeded to hold me up so I wouldn't drown! It wasn't too bad as long as I could perch on her shoulder.
Don't let go.....

This is by far my favorite water activity. I just sat on this floating mat and enjoyed the sun. I was laying in a little puddle of water so I kept cool too! Man it was awesome to be near Melanie while she swam but not have to be in the water with her!
