So you think you can dance

It's that time of the year again...Melanie's favorite show is back on the air! Luckily this year I was prepared for it. You see while I was living with grandma and grandpa for 3 months, I learned to dance. I jump up on my back legs and turn around while hopping up and down. Now after watching a few auditions episodes of the show, I have decided that this will NOT get me on the show. So I have been practicing extra moves to add to my 1 minute audition. I start with a rapid fire series of high fives, followed by a levitation roll over times 3. Then I jump up and do the dance move, followed by counter clockwise circles around the living room. And for the finale, I do a very realistic play dead. Melanie and I have been practicing all week and when I get it right she rewards me with popcorn...which I am happy to report I can catch a kernel in the air on the first try from a 3 foot distance....Go ME!

Pug Idol

so last night I was so upset that all the idol judges and the media were so into David Archuleta....I've been a David Cook pug for many many many weeks now and I couldn't stand to see him disrespected, not to mention that the judges could have wrongly influenced the public voters. But thankfully I can sleep soundly knowing that the Right David won! I'm thinking of starting a fan club...Cook Pugs. Wait that makes it seems like I'm being served for dinner...guess I'll have to keep brainstorming names.

My first trip to the beach

Splash!

So my doggie friends from daycare invited me and Melanie to go to the beach today. At first I was a little scared...I mean I've been to the lake and the whole playing in the water thing wasn't the best. But I didn't want to be snobby so I accepted the invitation. And let me tell you....it was the BEST THING EVER! I immediately ran out into the waves and played chase uninhibited by things like fences. We ran up the beach and then back down the beach. We ran deep into the water...the big dogs deeper than I and then out of the water. At one point I even got a little too deep and Melanie had to come rescue me. The waves kept coming and I couldn't figure out which was towards the shore. Anyway it was the best weekend I've had yet here in Houston and with summer heating up I am glad to know that Melanie and I can escape to cool off at the beach!

Marley and Me

Marley and the New Carpet
So my friend Marley came to visit me while his human was working. First we ran around the apartment playing chase....this was made easier by the fact that Melanie finally bought a carpet for the living room. No more sliding around on the wood floor! Anyway next we played tug of war and who can steal the toy from each other. Finally after a very boisterous two hours, we collapsed on the new carpet and took a nap. All in all a really great afternoon...until I had to take a bath that is!

My New Bed

So, one great consequence of Melanie starting a new job is new furniture, especially my new bed. Melanie thinks this is her bed, but we both know that whoever takes the most space up on the bed owns it. Hence, the new bed is MINE!!!!! In fact, some nights I try to push Melanie off my bed so that I can truly stretch out my legs and achieve complete relaxation. A Zen state can only be achieved by laying in the very center of the bed, ideally with my head resting on a pillow. Sometimes Melanie wakes up a little grumpy about my nightly exploits, but I don't really care cause my new bed ROCKS!!!!
