Dog Park Adventure

Melanie and I hit up the dog park with her friend and her friend's dog. The humans think they conspired to get us to the dog park but really I texted Hurley early in the day and told him to round up his human and get to the park. Anyway here are some great photos of our adventure in the "Large Dog" section of the park.

Confessions of a Peculiar Pug

I'm a left leg peeer. I tell people I am ambidextrous and can lift either leg, and while that is technically true I have a definite left leg bias. Sometimes I have to turn around to properly pee on a bush, pole, tree or fence. Strangely when I pee in the grass (ie no vertical surface), my leg still pops up and hovers about the ground. Plus in this special situation I sometimes switch which leg is lifted mid-stream. Gottta keep it real people!

Dog Party

Yesterday I was invited to my very first dog party. My friends Riley and Murphy were celebrating their 2 year anniversary with their human Nancy. I had no idea that such parties were common as Melanie has never offered to throw me a party. Anyway, it was awesome! It was kind of like going to the dog park cause there were TONS of dogs there....although the space was more limited. OH and the best part was the doggie cake. A special concoction that was ONLY for doggies...no humans. There were two cakes and I made sure to sample both. In fact I followed the "cake lady" around for about half an hour trying to score extra servings. She couldn't resist my cute face and I got lots of cake! Now that I know what dog parties are all about I will work hard to convince Melanie to throw me one for our 4 year anniversary next year.......

Blimps

The metlife blimp is currently circling over and around my apartment. I can clearly see it out the window and I have spent the day tracking it closely. For lunch Melanie and I ventured out but we couldn't identify why it was over our place. We even tried google searching but came up empty. So for now I will carefully watch it and make sure that it doesn't drop too low and come in for a landing on our rooftop!

TGIF

My plans for the weekend include lots of couch surfing, treats and maybe a trip to the park. Hope your weekends are just as great!

3 Long Happy Years

Today is the three year anniversary of the day I found my forever home with Melanie. I was just a young pup back then wandering the streets of Ft Worth TX. I can't really remember how I got there, but a wonderful person rescued me from eating garbage and roaming aimlessly. And then Melanie came to get me and it was love at first sight! That day, Melanie, Julie and Teresa drove all the way from College Station to pick me up. I remember that they brought a red leash and a brand new collar. And I think maybe they had treats on them. And all together we made the long car ride back to Aggieland. When we got to the apartment I jumped on Teresa's comfy couch, even though the humans had agreed prior that I wouldn't be allowed. But all it took was one adorably cute look and they were putty in my hand. From then on, the couch (or the bed for that matter) was free game. Ahhh...the memories!

So here's to Melanie and Jaxson....together forever!

Sorry Excuses

Today Melanie got something called a "fooo shod". I have not idea what this is or what this entails, but she said her arm is sore. And she refuses to pet me!!!! I politely asked if she could use her other arm, but she said that is her "moousing" arm and she overworked it at the office today. So here I sit with no one petting me....I"m so unloved!

The Crate

I LOVE MY CRATE and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Ever since the hurricane, Melanie has started leaving the bedroom doors open when she leaves me at the apartment. Before this I was limited to the living room, kitchen area...something about making messes out of sight out of mind. Anyway, now that I can go in the bedrooms I have reunited with my crate. I take my PB kong in there and just chew it. Then I usually take a nap. Melanie thinks it's strange that I would prefer the 1" pad in my crate to the nice soft couch, but my hierarchy of softness consists of more than just physical comfort. The crate is all about emotional security! It just feels right to be in there when Melanie leaves me.
