GOOD DOG!

January 31, 2007
I know, I know...I'm not in this photo at all. You see, I have a confession to make. I am not Melanie's favorite thing in the whole world....shhh you didn't hear it from me. You see, she really loves watching sports (all kinds) and especially if it's the aggies. Tonight she went to hang out with her favorite thing and I got to spend the evening alone. But she did leave me out to roam...which means sleep on the comfy couch! Lately she has been trying to get me used to being out. I actually enjoy the freedom, but for some reason I usually act up and make messes because I miss her so much. This frustrates her to no end, but I don't know how to over come this separation anxiety I have. But tonight I was actually REALLY GOOD! I chewed my Kong and played with my toys. Then I curled up on the couch and took a nap till she got home. Why can't I always be good......

Shadows of Jaxson

January 28, 2007
Been trying to enjoy the sun in the mornings...when it comes out. Lately it has been really rainy and yucky almost everyday! I miss going to the park when it is this way. I even volunteered to take a bath if Melanie would take me even if it's muddy, but she said no. Plus it has been chilly here and I get cold just thinking about going outside. Hmmm...maybe just soaking up the rays on my soft pillow is ideal.

Aggie Basketball

Spent the whole day cheering on my teams. First we watched the women knock off #6 OU on the road and breaking their 26 game home win streak. Then we caught the men in action three blocks from here. Unfortunately, neither Melanie nor I could land tickets so we watched it from the best seat in our house...the couch! It was a great game although I was a bit disappointed with our initial effort and lack of energy. But after a while (and the benching of the entire starting lineup 1 minute into the game) we picked it up and took it to the house. Go Ags!

New Dog Park

January 25, 2007
Melanie and I headed over to a new dog park in town. This is the only one that is fenced in so she doesn't have to worry about streets, etc. I LOVED IT! It is huge and has tons of space for chase. Unfortunately the grass is sparse so I had to play in the mud....did I say unfortunately...I meant LUCKY! I was covered in mud by the end! There were about 7 dogs there but no chase players. Until the end when this black fluffy dog started to chase me. I took off like a bullet and the game consisted of figure 8's and multiple jumps over this drainage thing. In this picture you can see me doing my best Superman impression!

My BFF

Jaxson's BFF
This is cow...he's my BFF (best friend forever). I have had him the longest of all my toys and he has got me through some tough times. Today I curled up on the couch with him and took a little nap. Melanie has the really great pillow that I love to sleep on. And it was chilly today so she put a t-shirt on me. I was just so warm and comfortable that I fell asleep in an instant.

Lassie I'm Not

Hiding in the OpenYesterday Melanie accidentally set off the fire alarm in our apartment. Initially I was scared but knew I should go and warn her that something was amiss. I wanted to be brave and rescue her, but alas fear overcame me. I instead hid under the couch hiding from all the noise and smoke. After Melanie got the smoke cleared out and turned off the loud noise, she came looking for me. I was quite embarrassed that she found me like this.

The Sun

The sun finally came out yesterday for a few hours. I spent ALL of them slowly tracking the sunny carpet spot across the living room. Originally it was right on my soft pillow but eventually I had to move off onto the carpet. Unfortunately it is cloudy again today with rain expected later. Will we ever get a break so that I can go meet my doggie friends at the park?

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

January 16, 2007It has been a wintry mix since I got back to College Station! First it rained...endlessly. Then it slowly started to freeze, first on the grass or gutters, then eventually on the roads. A&M cancelled the first 2 days of the semester due to poor travel conditions. Although this means very little to Melanie since grad students have to work regardless, she did spend yesterday curled on the couch with me. We cuddled all day under a quilt. Today she did go into work for a while after spending 30 minutes de-icing her car windows. I tried to help but the ice was so thick that I gave up after only a few minutes. I did faithfully stand to the side (ice was flying EVERYWHERE!) and cheer her on though.

Secret Mission

I'm sorry for the long delay in updating you on my adventures. I have been on a secret mission for the past month. First I met with my handler, Bruno, who filled me in on the mission. I was to infiltrate the headquarters of Sar, Inc. and learn all I could about their operations. I then traveled 6 hours in a specially equipped Jeep, undercover of course, to the target. Upon my arrival, I pretend to be a lovable pug dog (my natural cover) until I was accepted. This involved lots of hugs, kisses and napping with the humans. Luckily, my looks and personality made this mission easy and soon I was fully integrated into the operation. Here you can see me putting the charms on Katie, the resident teenager. I even convinced the humans to make me a camouflage uniform to assist me in my covert operations. While investigating the backyard of the compound I discovered a white, fluffy and cold substance. I tried licking it to ascertain it's identity but all I could taste was water. I brought back samples to my handler for further analysis and learned that it is called "snow". I also discovered another mystery phenomenon called "fire". This substance was very hot and moved in the air like an elegant dancer. I tried to move in for a closer look but was told "NO! HOT!" by my human. I decided to study this from a distance and found that it was quite pleasant to lay nearby. While my mission went smoothly for the most part, I was briefly detained by a highly decorated member of the Feline Secret Police, code named Chester. This operative was very slick and more than once tried to eavesdrop on my secret transmissions back to Bruno. I was also attacked a few times by this cat, but according to instructions I resisted retaliation. Overall I learned that Sar, Inc is a respectable family owned business that participates in only legal operations. There were no instances of gray market transactions and I reported back to Bruno that the group was "clean". I am happy this mission is over cause I could really use some time off for napping. I only averaged 5 hours a day during the mission as opposed to my usual 12!
