We WON!

So a month or so ago I entered my poem Ode to Morning to the contest running on another pug blog, UrbanPug. And what do you know I won! Apparently my poem exemplified "a pug's life". As a prize I recieved this really cool t-shirt, but since it is too big for me I gave it to Melanie. This means I am one step closer to learning my ABCs....okay I only know P, but I am working on J is for Jaxson and T is for Treat.

Thanksgiving Road Trip Wrap Up

So, my trip to Amarillo went great! First adventure...a really long car ride during which I tried to help Melanie by navigating.

I spent most of the trip, however, sleeping in the passenger seat on my comfy pillow.

Thanksgiving itself was really great. Here is a movie of me helping in the kitchen.

On Friday, we watched the Aggies stomp those t-sippers from Austin. I would have taken a picture but I don't want to rub it in....afterall, we were all pretty happy and not very graceful winners!

The rest of the weekend was spent decorating the house for Christmas. I remember last Christmas being really fun, but I don't recall the decorating part at all. This year though I got to help out a lot! Here is a picture of me getting into the spirit of things!

Here is a picture of me near the stockings....I helped Melanie put them up!

Next we moved outside to put the lights up. Melanie was up on the roof and I was trying really hard to get up there with her.

But since I was unsuccessful I busied myself with untangling the strings of lights. Or maybe I was putting tangles into them...hmmmmm.....

Overall it was a great trip...only 3 weeks till I go back for Christmas break!

Sunday at the Park

Today Melanie and I were very busy! First we hit up the pet store for some food and treats. I begged for a new toy but was unsuccessful. Then we grabbed a snack and hit the dog park for an hour or so. We walked around on the trail first meeting lots of dogs and people along the way. Then we stopped and she let me frolic off leash for a while. I had a great time playing with a little sheltie dog. We chased each other and wrestled a little. He barked at me and I barked at him. It was just so fun! There were lots of dogs there today since it was a beautiful day outside. Clear and cool but generally perfect. Now I am tired and planning a nap to recover from all the adventures!

PS3 Buzz

So last night Melanie and her cohorts went out to the local Hasting to try and get a PS3 system. Their intentions were purely entrepreneurial as eBay was the next stop. They figured this was the best place to try their luck out as it was a lotto system with everyone having an equal (albeit tiny) chance at getting one. I was in full support of their efforts seeing as their profits ($1500) could easily buy me some new toys, but sadly their numbers did not come up. Guess X-mas didn't come early for this pug :-( Plus I heard that their was a pug puppy there and I was really jealous that I didn't get to go!

200th Blog Post

Blogging PugThat works out to a post every 2 days or so. Of course sometimes I go longer or shorter, but overall I think that's a pretty good average! Over the course of these 200 posts, I have gained a small audience of faithful readers. I could always use more fans, but for now I would like to thank you my fans for your loyalty. I've thought many times of giving up on my blogging dreams but for you I will continue to document my puggie adventures.

Weather

Today is it REALLY windy! It makes the trees squeak and grown. There are leaves and stuff blowing all over the place. Add this up and you get one spooked pug. I could barely do my business this morning for all the noise. In fact I got so scared that I ran to the door whimpering for Melanie. She rescued me and gave me a reassuring hug. I only hope that it dies down before I have to go out again!

Therapy

Sometimes a dog just needs to talk about his feelings in an open and honest way. I think people need that same kind of outlet, especially if they are in graduate school. Consequently, I have instituted weekly sessions with the roommates. Pictured here is Teresa and I in one of our session. I am telling her about how I don't like being dressed in t-shirts. She is listening intently to my problems. She advised me to tell Melanie that I don't like the t-shirts, but to be accepting of the fact that in Amarillo it might be so cold that I would need to wear one. We also agreed that if I could pick out a more vibrant colored outfit I might enjoy it more. Consequently, Melanie and I are on a mission to find a colorful outfit that mimics my outgoing attitude!

Maintenance Men

I'm not into home improvement. You see the guys that come to do the work are SCARY! They knock REALLY loud on the door and then Melanie makes me go into the crate while they work. The guy today was here a long time fixing things and was making a lot of noise. He had this giant drill that hurt my little ears! I whined a little while but after about 10 minutes I settled for staring him down quietly. Course I let out a little whimper every few minutes just to make sure Melanie knew I was still crated. It didn't work, but I gave it a try. Eventually he left and I was released. I ran around the apartment sniffing everything to see where he had gone. A dog's job is never easy!

Down but not Out

Well, the Ags ran out of time today. The family was pretty sad about it. My grandma and grandpa and Katie had come down for the big game. We spent all morning/afternoon relaxing and playing together. But after the game they were too depressed to play with me. That's ok since I wasn't really happy either. Let's just hope the Ags can pull out the next two wins and hope for the t-sips to lose. That's the only way we can get to the Big XII championship now.

GAME DAY in Aggieland

It's gameday baby! The whole gameday crew is here live from College Station. It is pretty cool! We were going to take a stroll around the stage to see what was happening. The buzz around campus is ELECTRIC! And the game should be AWESOME! Too bad I can't go...not dogs allowed....but Melanie did promise to leave the TV on for me while she is gone. I can't wait to see what happens. I have to admit this is probably the most excited I have been since I joined the Aggie bandwagon last year. Stay tuned for the results of the game.

Aggie Bling

This is Teresa with her brand new Aggie Ring. For non-Aggies this may mean nothing to you, but for us it is a HUGE deal to get it. She wasn't really excited at first but then she got it and was just bursting with pride and excitement. Ever since she brought it home she has been looking at it every 4 minutes and taking it on/off constantly. Then she starts tapping it on whatever happens to be at hand, ie table, chair arm, etc. She is basically obsessed with it. But who can blame her....even I want an Aggie Ring someday....but where would I wear it??????

Coffee Table

So we haven't had one of these in a while since my roommates like to change up the furniture often. However, in honor of the carpet cleaning the table came back recently. And I LOVE IT! Unfortunately I like to jump on it and this is followed by a chorus of "Get Off....Bad Dog". Why can't I jump up on this table? It gives me a better view of the living room. It isn't very soft though so maybe I could be convinced to stay off it...hmmmmm.
