Frozen Treats

To combat the Texas summer heat, Melanie has devised two frozen treats to cool me. The first is called PB Pupsicles. Start with an ice tray and put a small dollop of PB in each place. Then fill tray with water and freeze. I give them 4 wolfs!!!! These are messy so make sure to stay in the kitchen or outside. The second treat is called Frozen Chicken Kong. Melanie took a little chicken bouillon and put it in some water (basically to flavor it). Then she plugs up the little hole in the Kong with whatever is handy. She fills it up with the chicken liquid and freezes. These are wonderful also. And bonus...she can leave it with me in my crate during the day. It lasts several hours and gives me a drink as I enjoy it. Once she even froze a dog biscuit in the middle! That was a very unexpected but joyous surprise!

Father's Day

I just wanted to wish a Happy Father's day to all those dads out there. Personally, I don't know who my father is, but in case he comes by this site I just want him to know that I love him. I know my grandpa reads this frequently so this post is more for him. Hope you have a GREAT day and I'll see you in a week or two!

Spring Cleaning and the Boogey Monster

Melanie has been going through a purging process as of late. I think she has made about 5 trips to the dumpster and has a car full of stuff for donation. She says it's good to clean up and rid yourself of excess occasionally. I'm all for neat and tidy but this process is very stressful for me. Number one the vacuum comes out way too much....this is by far the scariest machine in our house. It is loud and aggressive jumping out of nowhere to attack me! The second problem is that Melanie is constantly moving around....it is impossible to get my required daily 20 hours of sleep in when I have to follow her around the house. And lastly but by far the worst of all, the closet boogey monster has revealed himself. He hides in among the hanging clothes with those beady eyes of his. This morning he scared the wits out of me. Then Melanie went in there even though I tried to keep her safe. It was a tense 3 minutes but she came back out in one piece so all is well and good.

The Fever!

I've caught the fever.....the world cup fever! Every time a game comes on I sit up and stare at the TV with a curious look according to Melanie. I find this game fascinating for two reasons. Number one the ball moves very slowly across the tv screen allowing me to follow it with my eyes and see where it goes when it leaves the screen. With baseball I can never figure out where it goes. I race around the tv looking for it, but can never find it before it flies across the tv screen again! I have discovered that it does not enter my living room as I originally thought. It must go into the next room, but since we don't live there I cannot confirm this hypothesis. The second reason I like this game is that all the games are in the morning/early afternoon here in America (where I live). This means that Melanie has been spending more time at home and less at work. One might think she would just go in later and stay into the evening, but I think the laziness bug has bitten as she seems to be spending more time with me lately. And while I love spending time with her, it is really detrimental to my napping schedule to have her around all day!

weekend with Bruno

My weekend with Bruno was non-stop action. We played inside. We played outside. We played chase. We played wrestle. We played tug-o-war. We played hide-n-seek. I guess you could saw we played! I don't think we ever really stopped playing unless we were sleeping (at night) or the humans went away and we were separated. I don't know HOW he is today after the 3 days of playtime, but I personally am exhausted. I barely could drag myself out of bed this morning and even then it was only to the couch for a nap. I was really happy when Melanie finally went off to work at lunch time so that I could spend the rest of the day in peace catching a few ZZZZZZs....

Garage Sales

This morning while we waited for Bruno to get up, Melanie and I went on a walk/car ride. We saw this gathering of people and she pulled over. Turns out it was a garage sale (actually a neighborhood of them). It was really fun to meet new people and wander around outside, although it was HOT! Melanie ended up with a few prizes as she called them. I got 23 "he's so cute" and 59 "can I pet you" so all in all it was a successful outing!

Bruno

This weekend we are going on a road trip to see my friend Bruno. He is only 5 months old and has way more energy than me, but I have been a bit of a couch potato lately and could use the exercise. I have been waiting patiently for a whole week for this and can hardly contain myself. I'll make sure to report back later with what happens!

Car Wash

Today Melanie and I took the car to get washed! This is one of my favorite errands to run. First we pull up to the vacuums and the men there talk to me and pet me. Then we go inside (imagine inside a public building) to pay the lady and collect our doggie treat. Then we go outside and watch all the drier guys and cars. It takes awhile to wash a car so there is ample time to make new friends. Today I met two of the nicest ladies. They just LOVED me (and who wouldn't!). I was sad to see them go as their car finished really fast compared to mine. But eventually it came out of the dark tunnel and after a few minutes of drying it looked brilliant!

Groomer

Today I went to Petsmart for a grooming session. It was so good almost like a doggie spa! I got a wash, dry and brush plus a little nap in the middle. They didn't give me any cucumber water but I did get a robe (aka a bandana!). I was really happy to see Melanie at the end of the morning but I can't wait to go back. Maybe next time I can talk them into adding a massage to my routine.

Post office

The post office is a really boring place! First of all it is quiet....almost like a library (although I have never been to one of those). But the people are nice and I got some petting from some kids. Melanie just needed a few stamps so it was a quick trip, but overall I was NOT impressed!

Ashley

Today Melanie and I went to the park with Ashley and her mom Jenny. It was really hot outside (95) but it was still a lot of fun. Ashley is a really nice kid. She held my leash for a while and I tried not to pull her too much. But after a while I was so tired I just laid down in the grass for a snooze. She still wanted to go and pulled my leash, but I was a good boy and didn't react. I just rolled over and put my feet in the air which made her giggle. What can I say, I aim to please!
