I'm Back!
Okay, so I have been woefully neglectful about my blog. So to my loyal readers I am very sorry. I have been having adventures, but Melanie has been too busy to supervise my postings. I'm too young to be out on the Internet by myself....there's loads of bad stuff out there! See how innocent I am!
So let's see, the first thing that happened to me is that I got microchipped! That's right...I'm in the system! The government can now trace me at will. This scares me a little. Do you think they read my blog too? Maybe I should censor my posting a little better? Perhaps I should change my name to #48927484? For all you dogs out there, I do NOT recommend letting your human chip you. They poke you with a really long needle in the neck! Melanie said it wouldn't hurt, but I strongly disagree! In fact, I yelped so loud that everyone standing around the area turned and stared at me!
In order to soothe my nerves and apologize for putting me through that trauma, Melanie took me to the park. Unfortunately, none of my friends were there, but it was okay cause I could explore without anyone bothering me. Melanie brought a book and she sat in the shade sipping an ice tea and reading. She lost track of time so I had plenty of time to survey the perimeter and establish myself as THE dog in the area if you know what I mean.
Sadly this was one of the only visits to the park that I've gotten. It has been quite rainy here and that means mud. Now I am not opposed to playing in the mud, but Melanie gets tired of wrangling me into the bath after these outings. To make up for it, she has been taking me on walks at the park near our house. It has been really hot though so it's a good thing they have doggie water fountains there!
In other news, I have my own couch now! I no longer have to share with Melanie! Yeah! One day it just showed up in our living room so I took charge and declared it Jaxson's couch. See here I am posing on it. Melanie says not to get used to it cause it won't be here for long, but I don't believe her!
Also I got to go over to Maeby's house to play! I haven't seen her in FOREVER so it was really exciting when I realized where we were going. Lucky for me her owner filled in a lot of the deep holes in the yard, so I was free to run like the wind. But as luck would have it, the heat was just too much to play chase so we mostly laid in the shade or dunked our heads in the water bucket. I wanted to turn the sprinklers on but the humans kept saying that the grass needed mowed first. Then they brought out this really strange machine that was REALLY loud and scary!
So yeah, that's about it from here. The summer is definitely settling in here in Texas and it scares me how hot it's going to be. That and there are tons of bugs around, especially grasshoppers. These things are just annoying! They hop around and are too fast to catch. Although it does provide entertainment for Melanie to watch me try my hardest.
