Road Trip Recap

This past weekend I went to visit my doggie friend Bruno and his humans. The car ride was boring as always, but as soon as we pulled into the neighborhood I recognized it and started to get excited. You see Melanie refused to tell me where we were going! Anyway when we got there I immediately started a game of chase. Here is a picture of Bruno telling Melanie, "Hey...I'm trying to play here...."

On Saturday we went to the doggie park....it is so cool there! Actually it was really hot there and most of the time we spent in the shade trying not to play too hard. Notice the tongue action in these photos.

Then on Sunday we did something REALLY COOL! Bruno and I got to go with the humans to a baseball game. It was so cool to get to go rather than be left at home. As it turns out there were TONS of dogs there at the Ranger's game. When we got there we got a goodie bag including bandannas and spent a little time in the fenced area. In here they had tons of watering stations and pools to cool off in.

A Family Portrait

We were all sitting in the outfield but plenty spaced out so there wasn't much playing. Some dogs sat in chairs, others in human laps and most stayed on the ground. This dog practically blends in with all the humans.

Which of these things doesn't belong?

Here is the view from our seats. Right down the foul line! Don't we look cute!

It was pretty hot at the beginning of the game, so Bruno and I shared a bottle of water. I had to show him how to drink from a squeeze bottle....he picked it up prett fast. The best part was that anytime Melanie went to get a coke or hotdog (yes I know...disturbing that they sell these on Bring your Dog night) I got to go with her! All the concession stand people just loved me! They said I was SOOOOO CUTE! Bruno's pretty cute as well!

Puppy Tounge

The only hiccup on the night was when the Ranger's mascot came over to visit. You see I was getting sleepy by this point and was almost falling asleep. He snuck up on me and I had to take evasive action. I promptly jumped into Melanie's lap to protect her while proceeding to bark and growl at this impostor. He tried to make friends with me but I was having none of it. All my new doggie friends agreed and started to bark in unison with me. I even got Bruno to growl. The humans were trying to settle us down but I kept the fight going as long as possible. Eventually he moved on to pose with some children a section over from us. I insisted on keeping an eye on him though and made sure he didn't come near Melanie again!

Ranger's mascot

All in all, I had a GREAT time at my first baseball game. I've always loved the game on tv, but in person it was even more exciting. So exciting in fact that I fell asleep in the 7th inning and completely missed the rest of the game, including the extra innings. I heard there is another Ranger Bring your dog night in August and I hope Melanie lets me go again.

  • Oh, man! I'm so jealous. I would LOVE to go to a baseball game. Maybe I'll tell my Dad and it will convince him to move us back to Texas soon...
